Yesterday, I started this post in the midst of a new painting- Taurus. It brought me back to the moment when 2 years ago, I decided to paint all of the astrology signs as Goddesses. The first I finished was Cancer, during the midst of lockdown in Wisconsin. With it, I explored painting again for the first time in a long time. With it, I explored the moon, the waters, the shallows, the depths, the subconscious, and the dream world that Cancer captures. With it, a piece of me, translated and captured into an image, my Cancer Moon. Being here today painting a Taurus goddess in the midst of Taurus season on a Taurus new moon as a Taurus sun myself feels strangely intimate and humorous. It reminds me that the stars,  and Mother Earth often reflects life (and me) and that in slowing down to truly enjoy the present, I begin to truly see all the ways it does. In making time to tune into how I feel now, I prioritize and I find time to do what feels good, and what feels good begins to show itself throughout all the gentle layers and complex folds of my life. Of course— Starting out 2 years ago, I did not realize the course and journey of what I was setting out to do. I did not realize that in my initial desire to practice painting more, I would discover and find so many things about myself! In choosing my topic, I had no idea how each sign its characteristics, and the Goddess herself would touch me so powerfully. In painting her, in her many forms, and bodies, I found myself integrating, embodying and awakening these energies within myself! In staring at her, I found myself staring back at myself.

For example, while painting Taurus as a Goddess, I find myself slowing down to depict her. I find myself taking the time to enjoy each spot of the canvas, her body and her essence. Similarly, I find myself slowing down and taking time with myself, enjoying and appreciating the fine lines and motions of my body. With her, and with my life, I find and explore new ways to tune in and tune out. I take the time to honor my process, knowing that I have quite a bit of time until my goal of May 20th (the end of Taurus season) to paint her in her entirety. And I try new things, like incorporating day old coffee into the brown of her hair- (recycling and repurposing being a bigger part of my life with each day) while laughing at how Mother Earth, the energy of Taurus, sustainability and creativity blossoms through the process of it all. 

And so today, as I write about the Taurus new moon, (taking plenty of breaks along the way) I look back upon my journey, what I have made, shared, learned and gathered, and sit alongside, guided by, and supported by the completed paintings of the seasons, signs, and goddesses of Cancer, Virgo and Leo, while also envisioning all the future Goddesses and ideas I cannot wait to explore, capture and share through my own journey with the world, one day, one season, one moment at a time. 

Lastly, in reminding myself to slow down, look around and allow myself to truly enjoy this present moment, celebrate my journey and look towards the future with bright eyes, I allow the divine in, to breathe through me, to be with me, and to be me with each step along the way! 

Overview of the Energies of the Moon
​Building off of my own story and process on the left, the New Moon is a very powerful time to reflect on your intentions and dreams. It is a time to look back at times past for the lessons and experiences gained while integrating this knowledge into the moment here now. It is a time to enjoy the present moment with appreciation and hope, and a time to plant new seeds for the future you are dreaming of, here, now, one moment and one day at a time! 

With that, as we welcome in a new moon, a new cycle, the season of Spring, and move through the first eclipse of the year (a Solar Eclipse)- I hope that you appreciate and honor the journey that got you here, while celebrating all the spaces, places, and things you get to experience, do, be, create and live through from here! 

Plus with it being a New Moon in Taurus, a sign ruled by Earth, it is a powerful time to ground and materialize your visions and dreams into the physical! It is a time to use your energy to empower, nurture and support yourself in living and creating the life of your dreams, knowing that when you feel better, so does everyone around you too! 

​So today, as you metaphorically, literally, emotionally, mentally, spiritually- explore old wounds, and release them, embrace and make time to connect with and play with your inner child, clear and rejuvenate all areas of your life (mind, body, soul, space, career, etc)- reflect on your journey and dream about all that is to come- I wish you a brilliant time of love, bliss, and deep pleasure as you experience a life receiving the support of the divine all around and within you!

It shows you compassion and how to integrate the powers of the light with patience and clarity- which helps us to create a life and body that is brighter, clearer and more loving in all aspects and dimensions.

• As a season ruled by Earth, spend plenty of time enjoying spring awakening all around you and within you! Soak up the sunshine and connect your bare feet to the ground! Bare your breasts, sun your perineum. 😉 After spending so much time cooped up and still during the winter- now is the time to stretch your wings, and feel all the energies around you and within you grow, play, shift, expand, and guide you to higher places! The more you prioritize time with Mother Nature, and your body, the more balance and strength you’ll have to ground your dreams and approach any fears or triggers you may run into with a relaxed being, clear vision + an open heart!
• As a sign and season ruled by Venus, the planet of love, take the time to love on and romanticize your life! Empower yourself and your body with new, natural habits and practices like tea time, forest bathing, and more. Treat yourself a god, goddess, lover, friend, child, and allow yourself to truly blossom in the waters of your own devotion. Ask yourself, how do you best connect to the feminine waters of the earth, her flowers and her rhythms? How can you embody what it means to be the world’s best lover and support and nurture your own growth? 🌸
• Finally, with the combination of earth, the feminine, the bull, and Venus at play this season- Find the balance of following your natural cycles while channeling your deep drive. After all, Taureans hate being rushed, they're in it for the long haul, and they know that taking the time to be clear to create the things they want matters! With that, be sure to stand up for yourself in this process with all your heart and faith- trust that you know yourself and your path best! Nurture and explore yourself and your energy through music, dance, aromatherapy, oil massages and whatever else calls out for you during this time. Trust that this is the season to move forward with small thoughtful and knowing actions led by your heart and then your well taken care of body. 😉 After all, giving yourself and others time, whether it be the time to think, to try, to breathe, invites a grace and freedom in that births more openness, space, perspective, and peace into this world. And since we are all spirits in human bodies, it is important we prioritize this divine vessel and the vessels of one another by giving one another the time, patience and devotion to bloom into our highest expressions and selves.
