10/17/2020 0 Comments Scorpio Season (Oct 22nd-Nov 21st)Roughly about every 30 days the sun moves into a new sign and starting today, October 22nd-November 21st, the Sun will be in Scorpio. What this means is that the characteristics, themes and traits of that sign will be highlighted for everyone, no matter their astrological sign. Scorpio is an intense, deep and highly sexual and emotional sign. It is intuitive, shocking, and hard to forget. It is the sign of mystery, sex and transformation. As a water sign, Scorpio symbolizes the deep and dark areas of the ocean or our subconscious. The parts no one sees all the time. The parts we are afraid to go into at times. The parts we may feel shame, guilt, confusion. Yet for anyone who has ever dived deep into their pain or their darkness, knows that within it, lies a beautiful lullaby of comforting stillness, silence and deep inner knowing. As such, you may finding yourself taking a deep dive into the past or your inner self. What dark places can you finally bring to light? What dreams do you have that you can begin to bring into fruition? Furthermore, as a "fixed" sign this season means we are more likely to stick to our guns. To have a clear idea of what we like or don't like. What we want to bring forward and what we don't. What we should take with us and what we should let go of. And with that brings the strong inner confidence and knowing that you have every right to your feelings. To say no. To say yes. To change. To choose again. To shift. To move. To be free to chase what pleases you and to say no to everything that does not. This leads us into Scorpio's two equally intense ruling planets, Mars and Pluto. Mars rules action, aggression, and desire while Pluto oversees our transformation, rebirth, and subconscious forces (collective consciousness). So for those of you who have not made the connection already, there is no coincidence that Halloween, Samhain and even the Day of the Dead fall within this cycle. All of these traditions and rituals reflect how prevalent this theme is throughout culture and time. The transformation of consciousness, of power, of life and of death. Scorpio serves to highlight our own mortality making us dive deeper and question if we are truly honoring our soul's desire in this lifetime and asks us to also consider our future impact beyond this life. What kind of parents, grandparents and ancestors do we want to be? By realizing what matters most to us, we can shed or let go of old energies that no longer align with us in order to begin again and be reborn. To learn, to grow, and to be clear on what we want to pass on or give onto others. What is it that is important and should be immortalized, and what is it that can be put to rest? Unsurprisingly, the tarot card Scorpio is symbolized by is death. But death as we know it is simply one transition to the next. And as Edgar Allan Poe once wrote "the boundaries which divide life from death are at best shadowy and vague. Who shall say where one ends, and where the other begins". Emphasizing how the end of things in both life and death is often the beginning of another. (Another amazing piece for all of you philosophical peeps wanting to dive deep into the collective consciousness or knowledge of past incarnations check out Walt Whitman's Leaves of Grass.)

10/15/2020 0 Comments Libra Super New Moon- October 2020Tonight's sky will feature a Super New Moon in Libra. As the sign symbolized by scales, Libra is the sign of balance, relationships, and harmony. Being an air sign, it ushers in a freshness and flow to our lives. It helps us let go of the things that no longer serve us in order to create space and become lighter moving forward. It marks the magical, ever-changing and exciting nature of new beginnings. For Libra gives us the vision and the ability to recognize areas of our day where we may lack love, balance, or harmony, and to check in with our hearts to see where we want to go from here. This theme is further emphasized by the fact that this sign is ruled by the planet of love, Venus. This means that the weeks leading up to this Libra Super New Moon have given us an opportunity to become much more aware of how we create and cultivate love in our daily lives. As such, you may have probably been a lot less likely to put up with things that take away from knowing you are love. And sometimes love being honest about and stepping away from the things, people and places that do not bring you joy, peace, and bliss. With that, using the knowledge we have gained this past October, this Super New Moon will be a time to check in, assess, then balance your life. Set your intentions by asking yourself the following questions: Are there any areas of your life that could use more balance? How can you possibly shift things to create more space and flexibility moving forward? How can you find greater harmony between all of the pieces of your life? Are there any things (habits, thoughts, relationships) you can possibly let go of to create space for more love in your life? And finally, what do you want your life to look like by the following Full Moon in Libra on March 28, 2021? My Libra New Moon Intentions + Ritual
