Full Moon in Virgo -Feb 27-

Tonight's sky will be lit up by the Full moon in Virgo. ☽ What this means is that the moon is currently in the astrological sign of Virgo and will highlight aspects closely related to this sign for all of us. As such, I will begin this post with a brief introduction into the archetype and energy that Virgos embody. Virgos are a mutable, Earth sign represented by the maiden. After all, Virgo is derived from the Latin word Virgin meaning 'self-contained' or 'self-sufficient'. As such, when you meet a Virgo you will most likely be meeting a person that can be described as warm, yet cold. Someone who is detail oriented, precise, and hard working. Virgos are the doers and fixers of society, the champions and challengers of justice in the face of chaos and fear. Devoted, and loyal. At their brightest they are pure and well intentioned-faithful towards their vision of creating a society and community that reflects the light from within.

What will the Full Moon in Virgo Bring?

The shadow energies of tonight's moon will highlight areas of our life where we may be too critical whether this be on ourselves, our emotions, those around us, our career, or our growth. It will reveal the parts of our lives where we can show greater love, compassion and patience. At the same time, the perfectionism and unique perspective for details that Virgos bring is not all negative since it can also bring to light areas you need to refine! By being able to honestly face what holds you back, we can better align ourselves with actions that bring us closer to our highest goals. With that, remember that while the details are important, don't forget to step back and look at the bigger picture. Balance work with rest & play. Have high standards for yourself, the people around you and the life you envision, but remember to have fun and be flexible and open with the details!

What Should I do on a full moon?

Do what feels right for you! You know what your soul, mind, and body needs more than anyone else. So, whether that means dancing, playing, doing nothing, coloring, talking, walking, - do what honors and feels true to you. For myself, I spent the day supporting my community (a big theme in the lives of Virgos) by shopping at my local Farmers market. I went to the railroad park in McCormick ranch. I watched The Rescuers, sketched, then began journaling and blogging. I stretched. I bathed. I read. Ultimately, I nourished my inner child, and helped to ground any anxiety and nervousness that the full moon tends to amplify within me. By being able to observe and honor these feelings, I am getting better at allowing myself to be human. To live despite my struggles or perceived failures, and to be present to the full experience of what it means to be human. I hope that this moon brings a beautiful blossoming of peace and acceptance towards all of what makes life beautiful-the laughter, the love, the triumph, the failures- all of it.

With soul much love,
Elysian on Earth ☽
