Scorpio Season

Picture

On Sunday, October 23rd the sun moved from airy and harmonious Libra, to passionate, complex and intense Scorpio where it will reside in until November 22nd.

What this means is that the energy of Scorpio will be at the forefront of our consciousness (as the sun rules the ego- or conscious mind) as the sun shines a light upon the hearts, souls, minds and bodies of all of us here on Earth!

Overview:
Feminine, Yin
Element- Water, fixed
Planet- Pluto, Mars
Tarot Card- Death
Symbol- Scorpion
Body Part- Sexual organs
Ruling House- 8

Themes:
Shadow work, depth, vulnerability, release, endings, letting go, new beginnings, rest, slowing down, new ways of seeing and being, reflecting on the past and your cycles and themes, complexity, darkness, revival, history, transmutation, alchemy, deep ancestral connection, clear communication with the other world and spirits and beings of other dimensions, sex and sex magic.
Light Side of Scorpio Season:
  • Extremely passionate and intuitive, you will experience a close and deepened connection to your body, spirit and loved ones. In being unafraid to dive deep and be curious about what comes up and what comes through you and others, you are able to see more, and based upon this growing level of expanded awareness, make choices most aligned to you and your highest self and what you want to feel, be, and do! This energy will ultimately help you feel more connection and trust in yourself and the decisions you make on the path you are taking.
  • As a water sign, your emotions may flow more readily during this time. Allow yourself to feel, for letting it go, helps you to release and heal. As Scorpio often represents the darker and less explored terrains of the ocean, go into your darker caves and scarier memories. Remember that who you are is already safe and past them, and that shedding light, as well as compassion and love on them now, with the perspective and person you are now, can only help you heal the past and help you to see just how amazing who you are now truly is! Pushing, avoiding, repressing or forcing it down, keeps the energy trapped, stuck or stagnant in your body. In letting it out, you let yourself, your heart, mind, body and soul move out and through it faster and quicker! Also, remember to use this season to explore the parts of yourself that society often labels as “out of place or weird”.  The parts you hide or are more vulnerable about, are often what the world needs most of.  Trust that what is within you has been planted in you for a reason and that it is up to you to create a safe space for yourself to express and let that out!
  • Since Scorpio’s ruling planet is mars, you may find yourself more driven and actionable during this time. This will help you to make changes and reach  towards the things that matter to you and make your soul shine from the inside out! As such, this is a good time to look at your life and what is going well and what isn’t. Be brave enough and bold enough to look for the root causes and to tackle the main problem rather than treating the symptoms. Try new things, implement sustainable and healthy changes (like reducing caffeine, sugar if you have mood or sleep issues, exposure to chemicals and artificial secrets and flavors if you have hormonal issues, and increase time outside, try journaling, meditating, and supporting your body with healthy minerals and vitamins) to best support your mind, body and soul through all of the changes on the journey. Furthermore, with Scorpio’s other ruling planet being Pluto, the planet that rules the subconscious, rebirth and destruction also influencing this sign, we will have a clear idea of what it will take from us to get to where we want to be and how we want to feel, as well as what can no longer come with us (thoughts, people, places, actions, choices, things in the past, patterns, etc) in creating the life we want moving forward.
  • Scorpio is known for ruling the sexual organs, as such, now is a time to explore your body, try new things and figure out what you like or don’t like! Be honest about it in the bedroom, in the kitchen, in the gym, at home and more!  Know that the body and your life is a cumulation of all that came before, and that even now, it is constantly shifting and changing throughout time based upon its environment and what you feed it! In honoring yourself, your body, your feelings, and what you resonate with or don’t feel pulled to or attracted to anymore now, you make yourself and your entire body more relaxed, harmonious, happy and balanced overall, here, and in the future too!
  • With its tarot card represented by death, during Scorpio season, you may find yourself less afraid of the dark and endings. You understand its power, its necessity and its gift. After all, life is made up of life and death, light and dark, beginnings and endings, they are closely linked, one cannot exist without the other, and together they create all that we know today!
Shadow Side of Scorpio:
  • Too much of anything can be a bad thing. The dark, although it can show you your light, can be a very draining, consuming and confusing place if you are in it too much. With this season naturally being darker (as the days literally grow shorter) be sure to add lots of play and “light”ness to your days in order to maintain balance. Similarly, with this season being ruled by water (which is feminine) be sure that you are not only in your feminine and emotions, but in your masculine too! (Your masculine is the part of you that is direct, takes action, and is ruled by the mind). Connect with the element and energy of fire in order to keep alight and not drown in it all during this time. Remember like anything, the feminine and water can be be manipulative and destructive. Be brave enough to challenge your own thoughts, and emotions and determine where they come from. Don’t make choices or decisions when you feel your worst and practice moderation wherever possible!
  • Expanding off the previous point, with Scorpio’s ruling planet being Mars, be wary of forcing too much action or being too fiery. If you are feeling unclear, destructive, volatile or angry, tune in and then proceed when you feel better. Remember that deciding to wait is also an action 😉 and there is no need to rush, especially if you are uncertain of how it will come across or don’t trust yourself to respond not to react! In remembering that all humans hold feminine energy (regardless of gender) and that we currently all exist in a masculine world, this contrast can often cause our minds to push, rush or cause our body and minds to become ungrounded or scattered. In slowing down, you ensure presence in what you do, and show faith that each present moment is exactly what your soul needs to ground down itself and all of its magic, into Earth. Finally, with its other ruling planet Pluto, be careful of destroying everything in your wake. Slow, mindful and moderate choices are less prone to cause reaction, explosiveness and angst. Work with yourself, not against yourself. Push yourself but don’t pressure yourself. Be sure that what you do is from love and with love. And if you need to take moment to make sure the small steps align to the bigger plan and vice versa, take a break, rest, and adjust until you feel renewed faith and hope in the steps you take forward.
  • Scorpio rules the 8th house, which is the planet of sex, taboos, death, and resurrection. With it, this is a powerful season to explore any unnoticed, repressed emotions or memories you may hold in your body or soul from this life or previous. So whether it is exploring your views towards mysticism, your deepest wounds, pains, the feminine, sexuality, or death, allow yourself to loosen your shackles and the rigidity.  Become open and expansive. Allow yourself to be wild and uninhibited. Connect with your primal self. Do not judge your journey with the mind and facts only. In being accepting and embracing of yourself, your humanity, your spirituality, the fact we are mammals, how life is complex, yet so simple, and how so many different things can exist at once, things become a lot more clear, beautiful and profound.

Affirmations:
  • My heart and my emotions are raw powerful tools of change, growth and humanity.
  • The darkness is where I discover hidden talents, repressed memories and emotions, the power of my light, and deep rest, pleasure, and renewal.
  • I claim all parts of myself as holy and whole: my heart, my mind, my body, my soul, my rage, my happiness, my complexity, my simplicity, my light, my dark.

Journaling Questions:
  1. In what ways do I find myself rushing or forcing through life? What triggers these feelings and this ungrounded momentum? How can I consciously slow down and relax?
  2. How can I let mind, fear, judgement and inhibitions go to let my emotions and my heart lead? What helps me to feel calm, connected, free and clear?
  3. What have been some of my biggest pains, traumas and life lessons and how have they impacted me? What have I gained from these great losses?
  4. In what ways have I learned to cope in order to survive? Are there new ways I can shift or help support myself through it all?
  5. Is there anything in life I am avoiding or afraid of? Why?
  6. What makes me feel held back? Where do I think this comes from? How can I take action to face and release these illusions or limitations?
Wishing you the most magical Scorpio season, may light touch all of your darkest shadows, and may your shadows show you just how bright your light is. May this next month be a month full of blessings, and abundance of wealth, clarity, connection, integration, expansion, reflection, peace, love, and health.

With all of my love,
