Arabella- Air Plant

Picture
Picture
Air Plant Care: Place the plant underneath running water and allow him/her to be completely immersed (do this 1-2 times a week). Place the plant upside down to dry (to minimize root rot) and enjoy the simple, cleansing magical care of air plants! If they are looking a little dry- you can also mist them to liven them up between baths (this is especially crucial in the winter or when humidity levels are low)

Arabella meaning “yielding to prayer” is my air plant I got  at Mod Gen in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. (Such a cute store if you have never been or are in the area). I named her before I knew what the name meant- and like a lot of “random” thoughts or things, it reflected and confirmed my intuition and path. I have personally begun praying and openly talking to God, the Goddess and my angels and guides even more than I already do- and she is a physical reminder and reinforcement of this powerful connection and ritual.

She is also ironically, the first plant I have ever named, which is funny considering I have quite a few. But she was also the first I felt really wanted to be named/have an identity and a message to tell me.

Prior to getting her, I didn’t know that air plants actually bloom or “blush” as it is also called. I felt so lucky to see her blossom in all of her pink and purple glory. It was also amazing cause when I first got her (pictured in front of my Taurus Goddess painting)- I thought the light pink was the extent of her bloom- so to see her continue to grow, become a bright and vibrant pink, and then reveal purple petals too during my birthday month- was such a blessing.

A Little Fun Fact: Air plants don’t need soil because they typically grow in nature on other plants or trees- and are as such considered epiphytes!

With love, care, joy, and devotion,
